Oh, please! What's not to like about a series that features a vampire chef?!?
Okay, Charlotte Caine isn't a vampire herself but her brother is... Charlotte owns and operates a Manhattan restaurant called Nightlife. Her current dilemma involves helping out her friend Felicity, who is the top events planner in Manhattan, cater a wedding on short notice after celebrity chef, Oscar Simmons backed out on the deal. The hitch? The wedding is between a powerful two-hundred-year-old vampire and a wealthy witch. As Charlotte explains, most people know that vampires and werewolves don't get along but vampires and witches have an antagonistic history as well.
LET THEM EAT STAKE is the second book in the Vampire Chef series. Note to self: put A TASTE OF THE NIGHTLIFE — the first book in the series — on the "must read" list. The characters are so well drawn I feel as if I know them personally; and I wish I did. Charlotte's restaurant staff are gems. There's Robert, the English maître d', (he's a hoot!) Reese, the ex-drill sergeant with the SpongeBob laugh, and Zoe, the sous chef.
For readers who like a fast paced, laugh-out-loud element to their reading, this is the book for you! As soon as I finished reading it, I wanted to read it all over again. It was that much fun. This would make a great TV series, or movie...if anyone in Hollywood is listening...
