The Curse of the Werewolves

Okay, I'll admit a werewolf's curse doesn't sound like it has much mystery to it but there is a missing grandmother who seems to be in peril. Her granddaughter, Ashley, is worried and wants us — the player — to help her out and we don't want Granny to end up dead, do we? No, of course we don't. Besides, it's a fun, challenging (but not too challenging) hidden object adventure game.

The search for Granny will lead the player through dusty old rooms in a mansion, a dark forest, along a coastal path, and beyond. Various puzzle locks and the items needed to access those locks were not always easy to locate. In some cases, it was extremely difficult. I wound up heading to the game forum several times for help. On my first visit to the forum, one of the other gamers who were also stumped was lamenting the fact she couldn't find a particular item she needed in order to progress in the game. She was advised to go back to the bathroom. "Bathroom?" I shouted at my computer monitor. "I didn't even know there was a bathroom! I'm stuck in the cellar..."

I really enjoyed this game! The locations were intriguing. The scenes were well drawn. Nice sound effects, too. Although I had guessed the solution to the "mystery" long before the end of the game, it didn't spoil the fun. I am still wondering though, why Granny had a teen-age boy werewolf's bedroom in her mansion and who was that dead guy on the cliffs? All other bodies in the game seemed to be accounted for in the end.

The list price is $9.99. I paid only $6.99 with an online discount.
