Ophelia Jensen has her hands full, with her job as Summerset’s librarian, going through the adoption process for Tink, her teen-age foster daughter, keeping up with her grandmother Abby and her Great Aunt Dot, visiting from the Appalachians, trying to train T.P., her exuberant puppy, and finding the occasional murder victim. Hers is no ordinary family -- every woman has a mystical talent of some kind. Ophelia is a psychic, with a "gift" for finding things, which too often turn out to be bodies. Tink is a medium, and as her powers grow stronger she has more and more disturbing visions. She has a strong reaction to one of her aunt’s new friends, and later the man is murdered. Aunt Dot insists that it is their duty to solve his murder, and, despite Ophelia’s objections, they are soon right in the middle of it.

A camping trip meant to be relaxing for the over-stressed ladies takes a bad turn when their dog brings them a nasty surprise. A mysterious man seems to be lurking nearby when bad things happen. And Cobra, the menacing biker that Ophelia met in WITCH HUNT is back, but this time it’s not a bad thing. She has reason to be glad she didn’t turn him into a bat, or wallop him with her Louisville Slugger, as she’d threatened to do during their previous acquaintance.

Something is rotten at the local mortuary, and evil lurks in the woods. Great Aunt Dot seems very dotty indeed, seeing fairies everywhere, and Darci is unhappy with the paragon who has taken over part of her job in the library. She’s also unhappy with her love life, and forces Ophelia to go with her to a speed dating event, with predictably dismal results. Several people aren’t who they seem to be, and they are willing to do most anything to keep their secrets.

This is a fun series, not too much mayhem, blood and gore, just enough magick, and a touch of romance. I look forward to what happens next.
