Olivia Greyson is the proud owner of the Gingerbread House, which is a cookie-cutter shop that she and her best friend Maddie run together. Everything is really nice at Chatterley Heights, Maryland, and business is good until one of Olivia's best customers, Clarisse Chamberlain, dies. Her death is ruled as suicide, but Olivia suspects there is more to it, so she decides to investigate.

This is the debut novel of new author Virginia Lowell, and it is really a nice, cozy read. I still think the mystery itself is a little weak, but the characters are so well developed and the setting so finely depicted, that when Ms. Lowell writes her following books she will most likely have all that is needed to make a stronger plot as well.
