Irene Huss is described as "a former Ju-Jitsu champion, a mother of twin teenage girls, the wife of a successful chef, and a Detective Inspector in the Violent Crimes Unit in Göteborg, Sweden." Of course, as mystery readers we are most concerned with her role as Detective Inspector. In NIGHT ROUNDS, the case involves the disappearance of a critical care nurse during a blackout at the hospital. Matters are complicated when a witness identifies a woman long dead — some fifty years dead, in fact — as the nurse she saw in the moonlit hospital stairwell during the blackout.
The author weaves an intricate storyline in such a compelling manner that it makes it nearly impossible to put this book aside until the very final page has been read! Even then, readers will want more. Fans who enjoy a strong female lead character will especially relish this series, as will fans of police procedurals and hardboiled crime fiction.
Other books in the Inspector Irene Huss series: DETECTIVE INSPECTOR HUSS, THE TORSO, and THE GLASS DEVIL.
