SHOT TO DEATH is a collection of 31 stories of murder and mayhem in New England by Stephen D. Rogers. (Readers of short fiction will probably already be familiar with his name. He has been published in over two hundred publications to date.)
The author has an engaging, conversational writing style which I enjoyed immensely.
I don't want to spoil the fun of experiencing the author's work, so I'm not going to tell you, specifically, what any of the stories are about beyond saying they are crime and mystery-related, they're short, and that you should try them for yourself! They are a comfortable length. It's easy to read one or two (or more) at a time without needing a huge chunk of time commitment. (We all know that some "short stories" aren't really that short...) This book would work nicely for reading on a bus, plane, or train commute, while waiting at the clinic, pre-bedtime, or any other time when you're in the mood for some reading entertainment.
If you're one of those readers who shy away from short stories in favor of novels...You don't know what you're missing!
