Schizophrenic twins, Hunter and Antonia, have been resident patients at the Palmer Institute, a private psychiatric facility, for seven years; ever since their mother, an aspiring opera singer apparently committed suicide. Dr. Hoffman has recently joined the Palmer Institute. His treatment goal for the twins is to bring them back from their disturbed web of madness to sanity. It is a naïve and dangerous plan.
THE RULES OF DREAMING is not a fast, easy read. It will require the reader to pay attention and not skip lightly over the narrative. I found the book engrossing. I used to work in a locked psychiatric unit so I was eager to read THE RULES OF DREAMING and see for myself how Dr. Hoffman fared.
I loved the cover design on THE RULES OF DREAMING which is credited to Kit Foster.
