Reviewed by Shirley H. Wetzel

May Morrison has just been promoted to senior producer on the New York City talk show, "Paula Live." She is also dealing with the joys, tribulations, and scheduling nightmares of being a single mother to two precious young daughters. Adding to the frenetic pace, she is having major renovations done to her suburban home.

When the executives of rival talk shows start dying off in nasty ways, she is at first concerned for her own health, but when the evidence starts pointing to her as the killer she has a whole new set of concerns.

She becomes well-acquainted with a pair of NYC police detectives. Bad cop Paradiso is convinced of her guilt. Good cop O'Donnell, a handsome and somewhat sympathetic single parent himself, is inclined to give her the benefit of the doubt.

May undertakes to find the real killer while dealing with construction woes and nanny calamities.

Star provides an entertaining look at the talk show world and the lifestyles of the people who inhabit it.

This is the first book in the series featuring May Morrison. NOW THIS is the second book in the series.
