Eighth in the Jesse Stone series. Stone is the alcoholic police chief of Paradise, Massachusetts. He has a way of policing that annoys a lot of people, both criminals and townsfolk, but I like it and so do fans of Parker's bestselling series.
For a small town, Paradise, Massachusetts, has its full share of crime. This time around there's a peeping tom calling himself the Night Hawk, who has escalated from peeping to home invasion. Paradise also has a wife-swapping, swinging-couples scene. Plus, the junior high school principal has ruffled some parental feathers when she decided to conduct a check of the girls' undies before a school dance.
Once again, Stone brings his experience and wits to the matters at hand in order to sort things out.
I enjoy the relationship Stone has with deputies Molly Crane and "Suit" Simpson but I'm very tired of his ex-wife, Jenn.
As mentioned in a previous review, Parker's writing style drives me nuts but not so much that I won't try a new Jesse Stone novel. For his legions of fans, this latest Jesse Stone outing is bound to please.
