Murder, She Wrote

This Hidden Object game is based on the hit TV show, Murder, She Wrote. The player will join celebrated mystery author Jessica Fletcher in search of clues; relying on her inquisitive nature and wits to discover the true culprit responsible in a each crime. There are five separate cases to solve. The player will explore the various crime scenes and use Jessica's knowledge of the people and places to get to the solution of the crimes.

This is a light-hearted game. The murders are never portrayed in a gruesome way. The Hidden Objects fit the scenes nicely; nautical items on the boats, traditional supplies in the fish shop, and such. The time needed to complete each case seems good, to me. Some players will want to finish a case quickly, or each time they play. I preferred to break each case into two playing sessions of about one-hour each.

One minor distraction is the voice of Jessica Fletcher. The actress voicing Jessica is okay but not Angela Lansbury. Some may wish to dispense with the audio for that reason and choose to read the dialogue instead. For me, the famous theme music was annoying. I've never been fond of it. Volume turned off on that one, for me.

A Blog Walkthrough (online in the forum) and a Strategy Guide (at an additional cost) are available for those having trouble solving the puzzles, but most gamers won't need them. The puzzles aren't too difficult.

The full version game is 331.24 MB. I order it on a CD (at an additional cost to save downloading time). The list price for the game is $9.99 (USD). I paid only $6.99 (USD) with an online discount.
