Calling JUDAS HORSE an exciting read doesn't really do it justice. But it is exciting. The author has expertly captured the nearly overwhelming dangers inherent for Agent Ana Grey, assigned as an under-cover operative in a trecherous case of terrorism.
When a fellow FBI agent is murdered by members of the Free Animals Now organization, Ana is plunged into an intensive training course designed to prepare her for undercover work. Then, posing as an animal lover intent upon saving the wild mustangs, she attempts to infiltrate the inner circle of FAN in order to uncover what the attack they call "the Big One" is all about.
Relying on the skills of deception she was trained to employ, she may still be at a loss to successfully complete this assignment. Living a lie is not easy and in this case, it may not be survivable. She must be on guard twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. What if she makes a mistake? Lets something slip? Who might betray her? Whom might she betray? Is there no one she can trust?
JUDAS HORSE will keep you turning the pages, no doubt about it. Just remember to breathe normally. I kept catching myself feeling quite uncomfortable, with a gripping, painful sensation in my chest and would pause, realizing that I was holding my breath as I read. Inhale. Exhale. Breathe. It's only a story...
April Smith is the author of NORTH OF MONTANA (features FBI Special Agent Ana Gray), BE THE ONE (features Cassidy Sanderson, a baseball scout for the L.A. Dodgers), and GOOD MORNING, KILLER (features FBI Special Agent Ana Gray).
