I watched the second episode and have the feeling that the show won't last beyond one season.
The concept is pretty unique and there's good chemistry among the three main actors but the murders they investigated are pretty pedestrian and not worthy of the talents brought to bear in solving them. The writers are trying to play up Conan Doyle’s belief in the supernatural which is a big mistake knowing that possibility so far is always ruled-out at the end. Also the writers are trying to make the female constable the intellectual equal of Houdini and Doyle but the way it has been done comes off as too contrived. The unique talents that Houdini and Doyle bring to each case are not emphasized enough. This is done on purpose to probably to have the show appeal to a broader audience.
