Samantha Adams is a writer from New Orleans. She is on her way to Atlanta, with her little dog Harpo, when she receives a letter from her Momma in Santa Fe. This may not seem too unusual until you realize that Sam's mother was supposed to have been dead for the past 34 years.
The note is very mysterious, yet written in her mother's handwriting. Sam is on the first plane leaving for New Mexico, unsure of just what she is getting herself into.
Upon arriving in New Mexico, Sam finds herself in the midst of tourists, New Age healers, and a mystery that is about to unwind. However, it's not until Sam gathers the courage to actually confront this mystery woman face to face that the story really takes off.
Sarah Shankman does a wonderful job of describing the scenery and peoples of New Mexico. She delivers an intriguing story and a mystery that just must be solved before you turn out the light.
