This is the third book in the series featuring Wollie Shelley. (Do yourself a favor and pick up the other two while you're buying this one.) First in the series is DATING DEAD MEN. Second is DATING IS MURDER.
The author is an actor, probably best recognized by readers for her roles in Parenthood, The Favor, and Arachnophobia. She also has acting experience on the daytime soap The Guiding Light.
Fans will remember that Wollie has a line of greeting cards called "Good Golly, Miss Wollie." That enterprise covers her rent but leaves little left to cover expenses such as food and clothing, so she supplements her income with odd jobs. Some are more odd than others. Fans will also remember her current boyfriend, Simon, the hunky FBI agent. Readers new to the series will quickly sort things out, no need to start at book one unless you're a fanatic. Wollie's adventures are so much fun, they don't diminish if they are enjoyed out of order.
Wollie has been affectionately described as a "serial dater." Could Simon be "Mr. Right?" In this case, one of Wollie's former "Mr. Wrongs" is the dead guy. David Zetrakis. Zetrakis is -- or was -- the producer of the popular TV soap opera At the End of the Day. He was also a boyfriend of one of Wollie's best friends. And he was terminally ill. So why did someone kill him?
I thoroughly enjoy Ms. Kozak's breezy writing style and I can't wait for Wollie's next investigation!
If you like an engaging, funny heroine with plenty of sass, then you should read this series.
