Tony Hillerman pick up your boots and saddle and move on over because Kirk Mitchell is moving on in for a piece of the Southwest Mystery Action.

Mitchell begins his story with Emmett Parker, a Bureau of Indian Affairs agent who must hook up with Anna Turnipseed, a young FBI agent, to try to uncover the murderer of a corrupt but beautiful Land Management Official. The murder is particular horrific.

As the couple begin to move in on the killer, after tracking him through the greater part of the Arizona Havaupai Indian Reservation, they stumble upon ever greater mysteries and more bodies, too.

This book moved at a fast pace, while endearing the reader to the main characters and the beautiful land they call home.
