THE DAKOTA CIPHER
By William Dietrich

THE DAKOTA CIPHER is the third Ethan Gage adventure (THE ROSETTA KEY was number two. See review.) Gage is an expatriate American diplomat and soldier-of-fortune. Napoleon claims the Louisiana territory was secretly sold back to France. Gage is sent to investigate. It's not an easy task. He must contend with hostile Native Americans, British loyalists, and disciples of an Egyptian snake cult.
I don't usually choose to read historical fiction but in Dietrich's case, I make an exception. Not only do I enjoy the exciting adventures, I love the characters and the humor. I don't know why someone hasn't made Ethan Gage's adventures into a cable TV series. I think he could give Indiana Jones a run for his money on the big screen, as well.
Dietrich weaves a fun and fascinating story sure to delight loyal fans and new readers. Historic fiction at its best!
Other titles in this series include NAPOLEON'S PYRAMIDS and THE ROSETTA KEY.
