I love visiting Hamish Macbeth's picturesque village of Lochdubh. I wouldn't even mind living there except for all of the murders...It's rather like the Scottish Highland's version of Cabet Cove and Jessica Fletcher (only more fun, in my opinion).

Catriona Beldame, a newcomer to the village, is said to have magical powers. Macbeth thinks she dangerous but can't prove it. Are the townsfolk in real danger? Has she cursed Hamish?

This is the 24th entry in the series. Overall, this is one of my favorite cozy series. (I usually read gritty thrillers more than I read cozies but I do read a fair amount of cozies.) As in many long time series, some books are better than others but I am pleasded to say that DEATH OF A WITCH was yet another fun read from this series.

Most old-time fans will be pleased and readers new to the series can start here and then choose other titles in the series to enjoy. Readers may find some of the books in the series less satisfying than others but it's hard to resist Hamish Macbeth's charms.
