Hidden Expedition: Amazon

Rachel, Professor Mandible's assistant, asks the player for help to find the Professor after they became separated while searching for the lost Beetle Temple, deep in the South American jungle.

Hidden Expedition: Amazon is a hidden object game. This game was challenging but fun. It also contains several aspects that would be beneficial if incorporated into other hidden object games. First there is a tutorial on how to play the game with hints on how to locate items that require interaction with other aspects of the scene in order to secure them. Secondly, the silhouette of items to be located is available to the player. (Not all elephants, for example, look the same.) The player may also earn extra hints by locating 5 beetles in each scene; which is not as easy to do as it may sound. The puzzles are challenging but not frustratingly so. For me, some of the hidden objects were more difficult to find than solving the puzzles.

Hidden Expedition: Amazon was the full length free game I received when I ordered two Mystery Case File games on CD (rather than downloading the games directly to my computer, which is the usual method of receiving new games from Big Fish). The CD containing the games I ordered was delivered by mail for an additional fee of $7.99 and worth the added fee, as far as I'm concerned because I only have dial-up access to the internet. This method (ordering games via CD) saves me literally hours of online downloading time. The only drawback is that some of the newer, larger games are too large to fit on a CD.
