Agatha Christie: 4:50 from Paddington

While traveling on a train through the English countryside, Elspeth McGillicuddy witnesses what she thinks is a murder, through the window of a passing train. Of course, with no evidence, no one believes her, except her good friend, and amateur detective, Miss Jane Marple.

The player will join Miss Marple on a Hidden Object hunt for the truth about what Mrs. Gillicuddy saw in Agatha Christie: 4:50 from Paddington.

The hidden object scenes in this game were a lot tougher than I expected!

The sound effects were great and tailored to each scene (passenger chatter at the train station, kitchen sounds in the kitchen, bird sounds outdoors in the park, etc.). The various locations were fun to explore. The puzzles were not too difficult. My favorite puzzles involved sorting through items — literally moving things around and rummaging through a pile of stuff — in search of the required listed items. I wouldn't have minded if all of the puzzles had been like that!

During the game, the player will be given three opportunities to name a suspect. Apparently I didn't pay close enough attention to the clues. I managed to name two suspects who later turned out to be victims of the murderer. My third choice wasn't the murderer either.

I've already begun to replay this game. The hidden object scenes are so much fun to play, I don't mind that I didn't figure out who the real murderer was.

There are many mystery related computer games available from Big Fish. I encourage players to spend some time browsing through the site. Among those that may be of interest; James Patterson Women's Murder Club, Nancy Drew, CSI: NY, and Nick Chase. There are also additional Murder, She Wrote and Agatha Christie based games. I haven't played these games...yet.

The Full version game list price is $9.99. I paid only $2.99 with an online discount.
