IT HAPPENED AT TWO IN THE MORNING is touted as being a “legal thriller.” Well, it is a thriller and there is a lawyer in it, but mostly it’s a fast-paced thriller.
A lot of things can happen on the streets of New York, late at night.
Tom Weldon is a young New York lawyer who interrupts a murder/kidnapping while returning to his apartment at two a.m., after a late night at work. Subsequently he winds up being held captive along with the daughter of the murder victim at a rural location. They urgently need to find a way to extricate themselves from the sticky situation they are in and try to figure out why a hit woman is now targeting them.
There are plenty of twists and turns, likeable quirky characters, and the pacing is good. Overall the book is a fast, fun read.
