Think modern day brother Cadfael complete with vows of chastity and scriptorium in the ultra upscale setting of contemporary Cape Cod and you get the feel of The Faith Abbey Mystery series.

A MATTER OF DIAMONDS is the second chronicle of Brother Bartholomew, local boy turned monk and occasional sleuth. Of course, his high school buddy Dan Burke, just happens to be the Cape’s chief of police.

In spite of the spiritual setting, A MATTER OF DIAMONDS explores lust, greed, jealousy, and betrayal. The story begins in the Antwerp diamond district and ends in a landmark mansion on the Cape.

Manuel uses his skill as a storyteller and gift of exquisite prose to weave a collection of disparate threads into a rich and satisfying tapestry that would be depleted if any were removed.
